Personetics, Plaid Partner to Unify Open Banking Data for AI-Driven Insights
• Personetics has integrated Plaid's open banking connections into its AI platform, allowing banks to see customers' external account data.
• The single integration provides transaction, liability, and investment data to fuel personalized financial recommendations within a bank's own app.
• The partnership aims to help banks retain deposits and identify cross-selling opportunities by offering a complete financial picture.
• Financial institutions can use the combined data to build personalized customer engagement campaigns without developing proprietary AI models.
In a significant move for the open banking sector, Personetics, a leader in AI-driven financial engagement, has announced a strategic partnership with data network Plaid. The integration will provide banks and credit unions with a unified, comprehensive view of their customers' finances by combining a financial institution's internal account data with external information sourced through Plaid's connections. This aggregated data includes transactions, liabilities, investments, and other financial activity from accounts held at other institutions.
The collaboration offers a single integration path to both Plaid's expansive open banking infrastructure and Personetics' sophisticated AI-powered personalization engine. The core objective is to transform fragmented financial data into actionable insights, enabling banks to engage customers more effectively within their existing digital channels. Personetics will apply its AI models to this enriched data set to generate personalized financial insights, recommendations, and suggested actions for end-users.
According to executives from both companies, the partnership directly addresses a longstanding industry challenge. "Historically, customers couldn't stay within their primary bank's platforms and get a 360º view of their finances," said Adam Yoxtheimer, Head of Partnerships at Plaid. He emphasized that the partnership enables financial institutions to "identify opportunities and take action across their customers' financial lives, not just what flows through a single account." For consumers, this translates into a more tailored banking experience designed to help them save more, avoid fees, and manage debt more effectively.
The strategic implications for financial institutions are substantial. Access to a customer's complete financial profile is expected to bolster deposit retention efforts and unveil new cross-selling opportunities. Furthermore, Personetics' "Engagement Builder" tool will leverage this open banking data to automate and personalize customer outreach campaigns around specific needs like debt consolidation or savings goals. Personetics CEO Udi Ziv framed the partnership as a pivotal development: "Open banking finally gives [banks] a real way" to earn a larger share of their customers' financial lives, building primacy by delivering insights based on a user's full financial picture.
