Personetics, Plaid Partner to Help Banks Win Customer Primacy with Open Finance
• Personetics has partnered with Plaid to integrate Open Banking data with its AI platform, giving banks a comprehensive view of customer finances.
• The solution uses AI to turn combined transaction data into personalized insights and recommendations delivered within a bank's own digital channels.
• Financial institutions can use the integrated data to retain deposits, identify cross-sell opportunities, and reinforce their position as the primary account.
• Banks can deploy ready-made AI models or use an Engagement Builder tool to design custom financial guidance campaigns without building from scratch.
In a significant move for the Open Finance sector, Personetics, a leading AI-driven financial insights platform, has announced a strategic partnership with data network Plaid. The collaboration aims to equip banks and credit unions with a powerful tool to combat customer fragmentation and secure account primacy by delivering a unified, intelligent view of an individual's complete financial life.
The integration merges a bank's internal ("on-us") account data with external financial information—including transactions, liabilities, and investments—via Plaid's connectivity. Personetics then applies its proven AI models to this consolidated dataset, generating personalized financial insights, recommendations, and next-best actions. These are surfaced directly within a bank's existing digital apps, allowing the institution to engage customers with contextually relevant guidance without them needing to leave the platform. For consumers, this translates to a smarter banking experience that can help them save more, manage debt, and avoid fees based on their entire financial picture, not just a single account.
For financial institutions, the commercial imperative is clear. "Banks and credit unions have spent years trying to earn a bigger share of their customers’ financial lives, and Open Banking finally gives them a real way to do it," said Udi Ziv, CEO of Personetics. The partnership directly addresses this by turning expansive data into actionable intelligence that strengthens customer relationships. Outcomes include retaining deposits that might otherwise move to competing accounts, identifying timely cross-sell opportunities, and systematically reinforcing the institution's role as the central financial hub.
Beyond offering pre-built AI analytics, the solution provides banks with strategic flexibility through Personetics' Engagement Builder. This tool allows institutions to design and launch their own customised insights and engagement campaigns without developing AI models from scratch, enabling rapid deployment of differentiated offerings like debt consolidation prompts or savings boosters. Adam Yoxtheimer, Head of Partnerships at Plaid, noted the partnership solves a historical limitation: "Customers couldn’t stay within those platforms and get a 360º view of their finances through a purpose-built UX." The combined offering seeks to finally make that comprehensive, in-platform experience a competitive reality for traditional financial providers.
