MIAMI — In a strategic move to bolster its financial leadership during a pivotal clinical period, clinical-stage biotechnology firm Longeveron Inc. (NASDAQ: LGVN) announced the appointment of Nirav Jhaveri, CFA, as its Chief Financial Officer, principal financial officer, and principal accounting officer. The company, which develops cellular therapies for rare pediatric and aging-related conditions, brings Jhaveri onboard as it anticipates imminent top-line data from a key late-stage trial. Jhaveri assumes the role with a substantial track record, encompassing over 25 years in capital markets, corporate finance, and investor relations, including more than 15 years dedicated to the biotechnology sector. His background features senior financial leadership at public and venture-backed firms, with recent CFO tenures at gene therapy company Opus Genetics, AI-driven drug discovery firm Insilico Medicine, and commercial-stage dermatology company Journey Medical Corporation. He succeeds Marie Washburn, who served as interim CFO and will now return to her position as Longeveron’s Corporate Controller. “Nirav’s significant experience in biotech corporate finance and capital markets will be a tremendous asset,” stated Steven H. Willard, Chief Executive Officer of Longeveron. The appointment is timed as the company advances its lead investigational product, laromestrocel, a stem cell therapy with four target indications. Of particular focus is the Phase 2b ELPIS II trial evaluating the therapy for Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), a rare and life-threatening pediatric heart condition. Top-line results from this trial are anticipated in September 2026. Laromestrocel has received multiple U.S. FDA designations, including Orphan Drug and Fast Track status for HLHS. In his statement, Jhaveri expressed enthusiasm for joining Longeveron at what he termed a “potentially transformational period.” He highlighted the company's strong initial data across its pipeline and its positioning to advance stem cell therapy adoption. Jhaveri’s mandate will include steering financial strategy, enhancing operational functions, and supporting the long-term development of laromestrocel through anticipated regulatory and commercial milestones. His extensive experience in capital raising, licensing, and M&A transactions is expected to be instrumental as Longeveron navigates its next growth phase.
